![]() If you're sculpting in HD you'll want a super clean IMM made from an alpha and that can be done by converting into a VDM brush, then when it's looking good and clean and high res which only takes a minute) you go into deformation palette and use Radial Flatten dragged to the left to get rid of the plane that the VDM is on and you're left with just your alpha turned into 3d geo, then create IMM brush of that as well, if the Make3d option leaves you with something to be desired. Then drag that IMM out and place precisely but using shift after dragging your alpha out is 99% of the time good enough to get you to symettrical center :) Turning an alpha into IMM can be done quite a few ways but the easiest is the Make Alpha 3d button in the alpha palette which will give you geo you can turn into an IMM brush immediately, using the brush/create insert mesh/new (or append to an existing IMM). These images look like nautical depth soundings used to map the ocean floor. ![]() But like you said overlap may be a thing and if you want absolute precision and mirror and weld isn't working for you try experimenting with creating 3d geo out of your alphas, like I said there's a bunch of ways to do that including morph targets and morph difference meshes and whatnot but creating a VDM is probably the fastest high quality way of doing that, so check out youtube about VDM creation from alphas, the videos explaining this take about 6 times longer to actually just do it once you undertsand how it's done hah, it's very fast to turn an alpha into high quality geo to use as an IMM these days. The Alpha palette contains a variety of grayscale images known as Alphas. ![]() ![]() So click to draw in when the red dots converge at the center, then hold shift and scale up, bingo it's in the center always. Never had this in 4r7 I tried to find why this happens but I have no idea. All alphas that are in the store are included in one package. It enables you to apply two alphas to your brush The alpha changes based on the. Mega Alphas Bundle for ZBrush and Blender.
